THE CHILDREN'S INSTITUTE
ABOUT US
The Children's Institute (IC) is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (NGO/OSCIP), whose main objective is to turn solidarity into action. During its 24-year history it acts as a source of inspiration for society, presenting itself as a response to current social challenges. IC works as a bridge between individuals and legal entities that have the conditions and willingness to invest in the social sphere, but do not know how to make this investment reach those who really need it. Thus, the institution connects and articulates these two groups, advising companies and channeling financial, human, material and technical resources in order to promote social development. Annually, it invests in projects and campaigns of education, citizenship, income generation and community development in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In this way, it proposes to be both a force and an instrument of transformation, promoting the culture of solidarity in Brazil.
Currently, IC is ranked by NGO Advisor as one of the 100 best NGOs in the world, and it is also part of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
